Lindsay Chevrolet of Woodbridge, one the Nation’s Largest Chevrolet dealers, today announced that the dealership will hold a drawing to reimburse eight shoppers’ new vehicle purchases if the Washington Redskins shut out the New York Giants on December 3. Between Monday, November 26 and Monday, December 3 all new car buyers’ names will automatically be entered into a drawing. If the Washington Redskins win and keep the New York Giants from scoring, eight lucky shoppers will be reimbursed for the purchase price of their new vehicles.
Paul Smyth, general manager of Lindsay Chevrolet of Woodbridge, is a self-professed Redskins fanatic and he conceived of the free car give away from his belief in the team’s prowess. The odds may be slim, but it is not unprecedented for shoppers to win at an NFL shut out contest. In 1999, for example, BrandsMart retail shoppers were reimbursed for purchases in a promotion after a Kansas City Chiefs-San Diego Chargers shut out.
“Realistically, we don’t think that anyone will make a new vehicle purchase based only on the fact that they could win,” commented Smyth. “But for shoppers ready to make a new car purchase, the chance to get that new vehicle for free could be a huge incentive to visit our store. Everyone who makes a new vehicle purchase at the dealership will automatically be entered in the drawing starting next Monday and ending the day of the game. We’re also offering this promotion to express our love of the Redskins. They’re our home team and we believe in them.”
If the Redskins do leave the Giants scoreless, the drawing will be held and recorded at Lindsay Chevrolet of Woodbridge on Tuesday, December 4 at 6:00 P.M., and the eight winners will be announced on the dealership’s Facebook page. Participants in the promotion can then visit the Facebook page to find out if they have won.
