On Saturday, June 23, GM Northeast spent a sweltering afternoon beating the heat for a preventative maintenance workshop, test ride and drives, and car seat safety checks at Fort Belvoir Army Base in Fort Belvoir, VA.  Paul represented Lindsay Chevrolet, and a few of our staff, as well as Torine, from Safe Kids, came out to give folks a few pointers about their vehicles.

Before and after the preventative maintenance workshop we held ride and drives of the Chevrolet Traverse,Volt and the Equinox Fuel Cell.  We also brought along a sport-tuned supercharged Camaro SS, to show off at the base.

The workshop was a great opportunity to learn a thing or two about changing a tire, rotating tires correctly and what to look out for when your cars tire treads get low.  The Safe Kids demonstrations helped make sure people were properly installing their child’s safety seat. Attendees also received handy giveaways courtesy of Lindsay Chevrolet and ACDelco.

We are proud to have been awarded the Volkswagen Wolfsburg Crest “Diamond Pin” award for 2011, the highest honor VW bestows on a dealer.  This award is given to a few, very select dealers who are picked by the VW Board in Wolfsburg Germany. It is based not only on sales and service performance, but more importantly on the experience that the dealer provides clients and how well it represents the brand. Michael Lindsay was invited to the factory to represent the US at the Commendation Day on November 24, 2011 at the VW plant in Wolfsburg Germany.

Michael Lindsay and Jonathan Browning, President & CEO, VW of America.

“It was an honor to be one of only four Volkswagen dealerships selected in the United States to be represented at this prestigious Commemoration Day event.”

Here at Lindsay Cadillac of Alexandria we continue to count down the days until the 2013 Cadillac XTS arrives on our showroom floor. Now, we’ve told you much about the exciting new luxury sedan, but we always like to share some of the favorable reviews and news the Cadillac XTS is receiving. This time the vehicle earned praise from CNN as a model that could strike some fear into its luxury competitors from Germany.

The CNN article from contributing writer Doron Levin states that the 2013 XTS with its features, style and performance will give those in the market for a luxury car an even tougher choice, since it stands out as a viable and thrilling option that is on par, and even exceeds some of its competitors.

The idea isn’t to simply outrank and outsell other luxury brands, however. Cadillac wants drivers to come to the conclusion that a new Cadillac is the right choice for them. In essence, Cadillac wants to build loyalty and trust among those who drive its vehicles. That comes from those who have a Cadillac lease agreement, which they renew when they upgrade to a newer model after a few years, creating a loyal customer. On our end here at Lindsay Cadillac of Alexandria, we can return that by offering quality Cadillac service to Cadillac owners, taking care of their maintenance and auto repair needs.

That’s where the Cadillac XTS will strive, as it looks to create raving fans with its style and value, providing a thrill of a driving experience that might make a few converts out of those who are entrenched in the competitors’ camp.

If you’d like to find out more about the 2013 Cadillac XTS, feel free to contact us here at Lindsay Ford of Alexandria, or stop in to our showroom during regular business hours. Located at 1525 Kenwood Avenue Alexandria, VA 22302, we’d be happy to answer any questions you might have, and schedule a test drive of the new Cadillac XTS when it arrives in the near future.

Here at Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria, it might seem like we blog too much about the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Of course, we still think models like the  Mitsubishi Galant or the Lancer are great for driving around Alexandria, Fairfax, and beyond, but the Outlander Sport is certainly making quite the name for itself, and we love to see the SUV get continued recognition.

Much is made of the new 2013 Outlander Sport that will be on its way soon, but the 2012 edition of the popular model is no slouch either. It’s picked up widespread praise from auto publications and newspapers for its style and performance options.

Among the features you’ll find on the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport are a three distinct engine options, ranging from the 2.4-liter four-cylinder, to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 148 horsepower, up to the 3.0-liter V6 option. On top of that, the SUV moves and accelerates well for its frame, using a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Not only does CVT provide a smooth handling experience behind the wheel of the Outlander Sport, but it gives the SUV competitive fuel-economy ratings as well, checking in at 25 miles per gallon city, and 31 mpg on the highway using traditional gasoline.

If you find yourself in need of hauling some cargo, there’s plenty of room for that as well with 21.7 cubic feet in the rear, which doesn’t count the foldable rear seating.

Finally, staying entertained while driving the Outlander Sport is important too, and Mitsubishi has you covered. There’s additional options like Sirius Satellite Radio, back-up camera, a glass sunroof, and optional 710-watt Rockford-Fosgate sound system with a mounted subwoofer.

As you can see, there’s good reason we are always excited to talk about the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport here at Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria. To learn more, or take one for a test drive contact us online anytime, or stop in to 1605 Fern Street Alexandria, VA 22302, where we can discuss all new Mitsubishi models at your convenience.

Lindsay Chevrolet has teamed up with the Dale City Little League to compete for a free baseball clinic from the Washington National’s all-star Ryan Zimmerman in July.  The Dale City Little League needs the public’s help to win as it is in direct competition with over twenty other DC-area youth baseball leagues (YBL).

Lindsay Chevrolet is part of the Washington Area Chevrolet Dealers, a group of 28 dealerships in Virginia, Maryland, and the greater DC region.  Each dealership has partnered with its local YBL in the hopes of landing the exciting free baseball clinic where the popular third-baseman will conduct a fun and instructional program that will help young ball players hone their baseball skills.

Lindsay Chevrolet is asking people to vote for Dale City Little League by visiting the dealership’s Facebook page or by visiting mychevyleague.com.  The YBL that receives the most votes wins the 2 ½ hour free clinic from Zimmerman.  In addition, once a person casts a vote, he or she will automatically be in the running to win free tickets to a Nationals home game.  The winning YBL will be announced Monday, June 25.

“Our partnership with Dale City Little League reinforces our position as a business steeped in supporting our community,” said Paul Smyth, GM of Lindsay Chevrolet.  “We need the public’s help in giving our young ball players the chance of a lifetime – the opportunity to meet and learn from a local sports hero and one of Major League Baseball’s most talented players.”

Throughout this campaign, at the Turley Field, Lindsay Chevrolet will have the new Chevrolet Equinox on display.ar

Free Nationals Tickets – Those who vote for their preferred YBL to receive the free Zimmerman clinic will automatically be in the running to receive free Nationals tickets.  For ten-weeks beginning on April 23, Lindsay Chevrolet will be giving away two free tickets to a Nationals home game.  In all, 56 tickets will be given away each week.

More on Ryan Zimmerman – Zimmerman hails from Virginia Beach, VA.  He played his college ball at the University of Virginia.  He was a MLB all-star third baseman for the Washington Nationals in 2009.  He is the proud founder of the ziMS Foundation, which is dedicated to the treatment and ultimate cure of Multiple Sclerosis by funding comprehensive support and educational programs.www.zimsfoundation.org
