One of the many things we love about Mitsubishi here at Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria is their continued commitment to hybrid and electric vehicle technology. One of their lofty goals is to have all new Mitsubishi vehicles offer electric options in the future. While the Japanese automaker has stated this before, they’ve now set a date for when we can expect these electric cars to arrive.
Mitsubishi has stated that within four years, they will offer an electric option on each of their vehicles in some way, shape or form. It might seem like a pretty daunting task, but we’re certain the automaker can pull it off. After all, they have the Mitsubishi i-MiEV already, a vehicle that boasts 112 miles per gallon equivalent, and a charge time that can take just 30 minutes.
There’s also plans for eco-friendly models to debut in the future, like the Outlander Sport, as a plug-in hybrid of the Mitsubishi SUV is set to be unveiled in 2013, and hit the market the following year. All told, it’s an effort to make sure drivers in Alexandria, Fairfax and Washington, D.C. have a host of options in both gas- and electric-powered vehicles across the entire new Mitsubishi lineup.
Of course, part of the process is also winning drivers over and making hybrid and electric vehicles viable options for those looking to buy or lease a new car. That’s a big task to take on, but again, Mitsubishi has proven it’s capable. Case in point, the i-MiEV was named to Kelley Blue Book’s “10 Best Green Cars” listing. On top of that, drivers can be assured that models like the 2012 Mitsubishi Galant are held to a high standard of quality in their build, design, and performance.
