It’s a good time to be a baseball fan on the Beltway. The Nationals have made the playoffs and the Orioles are in the thick of their playoff race so drivers in the greater WheatonSilver Spring, and Gaithersburg area won’t want to miss a single inning. That why here at Lindsay Ford of Wheaton, we’d like to inform baseball fans of a new update to the MLB At Bat 2012 app.

The app, which is a must have for baseball aficionados, giving them the latest news, scores and other updates is now available for use on Ford vehicles equipped with AppLink. The service can be found on many new Ford vehicles allows for smartphone integration using Ford SYNC. It also supports other popular apps like Pandora, Stitcher, and OpenBeak. Now, with the addition of MLB At Bat 2012, it just adds to the growing list features on models like the 2013 Escape.

While only iPhone users will be able to enjoy MLB At Bat 2012 for the time being, we’re guessing that we will see it rolled out for Android and Blackberry as well. Hopefully, it’s in time for when both the Nats and the O’s have made it to the postseason. We’ll be sure to provide any updates if that happens, so keep up with the latest news on the Lindsay Ford of Wheaton blog by subscribing to our RSS feed.

We hope Ford drivers with iPhones download the app and use it with Ford SYNC so they won’t miss a minute of the action on the go; from every Gio Gonzalez strikeout or Bryce Harper hit, to Adam Jones knocking one out of the park, or Jim Johnson picking up the save.

If you have any questions feel free to stop in to our location at 11250 Veirs Mill Road Wheaton, MD 20902 where we’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have on new Ford models and arrange test drives at your convenience.

Drivers in the greater Alexandria area who are fans of electric vehicle technology are aware of the continued commitment Mitsubishi has made to produce emission-free vehicles. That’s evident in the new Mitsubishi lineup here at Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria with the i-MiEV. These EVs have continued to make believers out of drivers across the United States, and in Canada as well.

The City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada announced it would use the Mitsubishi i-MiEV in its fleet, ordering 13 models to replace ones that are powered by traditional gasoline. They’ll be used by the city’s staff to travel around town to meetings and worksites. To support the new electric fleet, Vancouver is installing charging stations in many places around the city.

The move makes perfect sense to us, as the Mitsubishi i-MiEV has a driving range of 62 miles, doesn’t produce a single emission, and is the most affordable electric car on the marketplace today. On top of that, Vancouver likely chose the i-MiEV because of its compact, yet comfortable design, along with three charging options. Those include a 22.5-hour charge at 120V, 7 hours at 240V, and a 30-minute 80-percent charge with a CHAdeMO Level 3 public quick-charger.

For drivers here in the AlexandriaFairfax, and Washington, D.C. areas, Mitsubishi also offers a 8-year/100,000-mile warranty on the battery of the i-MiEV, a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and a 3-year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty to give you comprehensive coverage.

All that and you get to save money by not having to go to the gas station.

To learn more about the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, stop in to Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria where we’d be more than happy to outline all the vehicle specifics for you. We’re conveniently located at 1065 Fern Street Alexandria, VA 22302, and have finance specialists here who can discuss all the Mitsubishi lease and car loan options and set up a test drive in a new Mitsubishi model that interests you.

Like the ones you might see after long days traveling in the desert, the Mitsubishi Mirage does not appear at dealerships like ours here at Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria. That doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it, as it’s still successful overseas, and we can usually find many relevant pieces of information to share with drivers in the greater Alexandria and Fairfax areas.

The efficient Mirage recently debuted its 2013 model in Japan, sporting some new eye-catching color schemes, but it’s what’s under the hood that we’d like to discuss.

With its 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine, the vehicle might not churn out the same level of performance that you’d expect on something like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Aiming to give drivers another fuel-efficient option, the 1.0-liter engine combined with stop/start technology gives the 2013 Mirage a competitive 67 miles per gallon.

That’s certainly impressive, and after the Mirage debuts in Europe and Australia, maybe we could see it join the new Mitsubishi lineup here at Lindsay Mitsubishi Alexandria? Company officials have said they are taking it into consideration. Even if the model doesn’t make its way to our shores, we’re hopeful that the innovative and efficient engine might, as we’re sure more drivers would enjoy another option that allows them to maximize fuel economy.

To stay up to date with the latest Mitsubishi news, subscribe to our RSS feed, as we’re dedicated to keeping you informed. If you’d like to learn more about any new Mitsubishi model here in our showroom, stop by 1605 Fern Street Alexandria, VA 23302 where we’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have and set up a test drive at your convenience.
