Taking vehicles out for testing before they arrive at dealerships like ours here at Lindsay Cadillac of Alexandria are quite common among automakers, and CADILLAC is no different. Where that testing is done varies, and recently the luxury automaker used the Brooklyn Bridge to examine some of its safety technology.
So why the bridge? Well, to take a closer look at the radar in the Driver Awareness and Driver Assist systems, available on the 2013 CADILLAC XTS, the Brooklyn Bridge offered many challenges, mainly to determine if the safety technology could differentiate objects like bridge rails which are stationary and congested traffic moving across the bridge.
The hope is that both the Driver Awareness and Driver Assist features in the CADILLAC XTS will cover all the bases, and be able to anticipate every scenario as it comes in real time so that drivers will be properly warned of what requires braking action and warnings, and what does not.
It’s technology like this, and the rigorous testing it goes through that gives drivers in the greaterAlexandria, Woodbridge and Fairfax areas a reason to consider new CADILLAC models when searching for a luxury vehicle.
