2013-Chevrolet-Volt-Image-08-800

Are you a potential electric vehicle buyer in the Stafford and Woodbridge areas? If so, Lindsay Chevrolet is here to inform you of a milestone the Chevrolet Volt recently celebrated that may convince you to stop by our 15605 Jefferson Davis Highway Woodbridge, VA 22191 location for a test drive.

Chevrolet reports that collectively, Volt drivers have traversed more than 100 million miles solely on electric power. The plug-in hybrid vehicle’s debut got a lot of attention in the automotive industry two years ago, and this month’s numbers are sure to bolster its acclaim. In fact, Volt owners spend an average of 65 percent of their driving time in electric mode, directly translating to money saved.

So how would the electric mode’s efficiency translate to less spending at the pump? Typical savings total out to around $1,370 per year. That’s a big chunk of change thanks to the 38 mile electric range and overall 37 mile per gallon rating. Let’s break down the money saved in a practical way. You could:

  • Go to the movies 137 times at $10 per ticket (or 68 times if you bring a date)
  • Purchase $151 worth of groceries for nine weeks
  • Have your Chevy washed 228 times at $6 per wash

And that’s just the standard savings. Some Volt owners reported even higher numbers. In the ecological sense, they’ve kept about 5 million gallons of gasoline from being consumed, which is more than two supertankers can supply.

Have we convinced you yet? Stop by 15605 Jefferson Davis Highway Woodbridge, VA 22191 location for a test drive.

2013chevcamaro

The 2013 Chevy Camaro is the most recent update of a classic Chevrolet model from a long line of impressive predecessors. With available V6 and V8 engines that boast the power 426 and 580 horses respectively, the vehicle is an impressive member of the new Chevrolet lineup. And at Lindsay Chevrolet, we’re excited to inform our customers in the Woodbridge and Stafford areas that come 2016, there will be another engine available for the Camaro.

The 2016 model year will mark the sixth generation for the venerable Camaro line, and Chevy is marking the date with a turbocharged four-cylinder. We can really only guess at output numbers, but we’d guess it’ll be in the 300-350 horsepower range. Now, a turbocharged four-cylinder may not be the most powerful update, but we’re sure Chevy has something up their proverbial sleeve. It could mean increased efficiency and save valuable space, among other things.

And of course, V6 and V8 options will still be available for all you speed demons out there. The update will simply be another option on the table, that will perhaps appeal to a different segment of car buyers.

To stay on top of Chevy updates like this, remember to check out our blog for regular updates. And if you’re interested in learning more about purchasing a new or used Chevy model, stop by and see us at15605 Jefferson Davis Highway Woodbridge, VA 22191. Our qualified staff members will be happy to set you up with a test drive, or lay out our available Chevy finance options.

One of the most popular Volkswagen vehicles out there is Herbie the Love Bug. The iconic Volkswagen Beetle is the star of six feature films and a television series. Needless to say, Herbie has gained a big following over the years, with many wanting to modify their vehicles to look just like it. Now, Volkswagen is giving these fans another reason to cheer, with the release of the Beetle 53 Edition in Spain.

The number 53 and off-center racing stripes on the 53 Edition modernizes the classic car with the 2012 Beetle. Here at Lindsay Volkswagen of Dulles, we have to say it looks pretty slick.
