If you’re a fan of extreme winter sports, then you probably spent a lot of time glued to the TV to watch Shaun White, Danny Davis, and Louie Vito defy gravity at the recent Winter X Games. Here at Lindsay Chevrolet, we have a hard time wrapping our heads around the tricks that they pull off, but it makes perfect sense that the half pipe and other key components of the terrain park come to life with the help of a Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD.
Course designer Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson and his Snow Park Technologies crew have designed and built 250 courses for snowy competitions in the US and Europe. Gunnarson admits that he wouldn’t be able to do it without his truck that can handle heavy duty work in harsh weather conditions and remote locations. Whether they’re working on avalanche control or building a half-pipe in blizzard conditions, they know that Chevy trucks are up to the task.
Soon, Gunnarson and his work will be featured on the National Geographic Channel in Mountain Movers, a reality program focused on the terrain park specialists and the challenges they face as they create playgrounds for the world’s top winter competitors. He can’t wait to show viewers what he and his truck can do: “I know Chevy trucks can handle the heavy duty work we do, and in the nastiest environments a mountian can offer because I use them every day.”1
