When the car experts here at Lindsay Chevrolet first checked out the colorizer website for the new 2014 Corvette Stingray, they couldn’t help but notice the absence of a racing-stripe option. Usually, this paint job is indicative of the Grand Sport trim, and while the brand hasn’t officially announced that there will be one for that model year, we now have a very good feeling that there will be.
How can we be so sure? This great news came to us in the form of leaked spy photos. These images showed a 2014 Corvette with the distinctive racing-stripes that can only mean one thing: a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is on its way.
The photos revealed other proof as well. All other versions of the C7 have had a ‘Stingray’ badge on their fenders, and this mystery vehicle was very obviously missing such a label.
The big question still on everyone’s mind is what kind of engine this new Grand Sport will have under its hood. The 2013 Corvette Grand Sport is packing a mean 430 horsepower, 6.2-liter V8 engine, and given what we’ve seen from the competitive automaker in the past, we’re sure they will kick it up a notch or two for 2014.
Once we hear confirmation of this new vehicle, we’ll let you know right here on our blog, so be sure to subscribe to it and ‘Like’ us on Facebook to get all of the latest industry news.
