The 2014 Cadillac SRX luxury crossover vehicle earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
NHTSA states that the 2014 SRX received five stars in the side crash test, four stars in the front crash test, and four stars in the rollover crash test. Ratings also apply to front-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the SRX.
The forces in the tests are similar to those that would result from a frontal offset crash between two vehicles of the same weight, each going just under 40 mph. The moderate overlap crash test was designed to see how a vehicle can withstand the impact of another vehicle, which weighs around the same amount, going under 40 mph.
The 2014 SRX also received “Good” ratings in every crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, including a “Good” rating in the tough moderate overlap front crash test.
The Cadillac SRX competed with similar vehicles like the BMW X3 and Lincoln MKX.
Standard safety features includes side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, electronic stability control with traction control, six airbags, and antilock brakes. Optional available features include a rear vision camera, lane-departure warning, and a Safety Alert seat.
