This week, May 12th– May 18th is National Police Week, a time for us to remember all of the American Law Enforcement Officers who have lost their lives during their public service. National Police Week originated on May 15th, 1962 when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation declaring it as Peace Officers Memorial Day, which falls within the week annually. Now, this week brings together thousands of law enforcement from around the world to participate in a variety of events in Washington, D.C., all of which pay homage to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Lindsay Automotive Group shows its support for its local Police Force at Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria, where there is a satellite office for the Alexandria City Police. Lindsay is proud to offer this small gesture to the amazing officers that risk their lives to protect us on a daily basis. Lindsay Automotive Group also had the opportunity to help one incredible officer after he was shot while on duty just over a year ago. Virginia’s largest auto body repair shop, Lindsay Collision Center, in Springfield, VA, made contributions that led to the restoration of the officer’s beloved 1975 Mercedes by his friends and family. The officer was thrilled to come home to such a wonderful surprise, and everyone else was just as thrilled to have him home! Read more about the extraordinary Officer, Peter Laboy, here.
The Lindsay Automotive family would like to remind everyone of the hard work, dedication, and bravery that is exhibited by our local law enforcement. Please remember to be safe while on the roads.
